How to Pray Salatul Janazah (HANAFI, SHAFI’I, MALIKI)

How do you pray salatul Janazah?

This common thought runs through many of our heads as we line up to pray over the deceased believer. May Allah swt make us prepared to pray salatul janazah over our loved ones, the believers, and teach it to those who one day may have to pray over us!

In the video we cover the steps for the Hanafi, Shafi, and Maliki madhabs.

Hanafi Method:
Step 1: First takbir raise hands and recite Sana praising Allah(swt)
Step 2: Second takbir without raising hands and recite Durood-e-Ibrahim
Step 3: Third takbir without raising hands and make dua for self, deceased, and Muslims
Step 4: Fourth takbir without raising hands, salutations on both sides

Shafi’i Method:
Step 1: First takbir raise hands and recite Surah Fatiha
Step 2: Second takbir raise hands and recite Durood-e-Ibrahim
Step 3: Third takbir raise hands and make dua for self, deceased, and Muslims
Step 4: Fourth takbir raise hands, one salutation obligatory, two optional

Maliki Method:
Step 1: First takbir raise hands and recite Sana praising Allah(swt)
Step 2: Second takbir without raising hands and recite Durood-e-Ibrahim
Step 3: Third takbir without raising hands and make dua for self, deceased, and Muslims
Step 4: Fourth takbir without raising hands, salutation to one side, both sides optional
